Behind the Scenes: ML Spring 2018
Poetic elegance defines Monique Lhuillier
for Spring Summer 2018. A soft palette infuses the collection creating refined, romantic silhouettes.
Chantilly lace with billowing sleeves tucks into a high waisted powder blue jacquard pant, as a rose gold point d’esprit floats along muted and floral splash print chiffons. An orchid silk organza accordion pleat shift delights while floral appliques come alive on white Guipure lace. Signature botanical prints appear in apricot sateen, noir and silk white chiffon adding to the romance. This season attention is at the neck with ruffles and diamanté and also at the waist with smocking and trellis embroidery on pale mint and lavender silk chiffons. A sleek tuxedo offers a touch of masculinity amidst the feminine splendor.
Evening is sublime - ostrich feathers are abundant on skirts, dresses and capes creating grandeur. Dramatic chevron embroideries glimmer on latte chiffon while iridescent metallic sequins sparkle on a simple shift and a decadent cascading silver fringe caplet dress shines. A final moment is spent with a daffodil ikat floral silk taffeta ball gown.
Floral accents adhere to the bags and shoes. Satin ankle boots anchor while jeweled slippers inspire an effortlessness. An ethereal modernity pervades Spring Summer 2018.
